What you will explore
This lab teaches converting natural language requests into executable SQL against MySQL using n8n and an OpenAI model.
Steps: formulate NL query, generate/validate SQL, execute on a fictional database and retrieve results.
Includes control mechanisms and human validation to prevent logical errors or unsafe queries.

Course programme
01Query a MySQL database in natural language
Workshop to query a MySQL database in natural language using n8n and OpenAI. Set up the environment, translate NL queries into SQL, execute queries and return formatted results for reporting or ad‑hoc exploration.
Goal: enable natural language SQL queries against a MySQL database.
Method: prepare the environment (n8n, OpenAI, MySQL), build an intermediary that translates NL→SQL and runs the queries.
Use case: get formatted SQL results without hand‑writing SQL, useful for analysts or BI engineers prototyping queries quickly.
